Background to the Rotary Police Officer of the Year Awards
The Rotary Police Officer of the Year Awards are an opportunity for Rotary, on behalf of the community, to recognise the good work being done, day in and day out, by the majority of men and women in the New South Wales Police Service.
Police Officer of the Year Awards have been successfully carried out in the Northern Territory and Cabramatta for several years and is expanding throughout Australia
Cops are Tops is a well recognised symbol within the community. The NSW Police Commissioner, Ken Moroney, has nominated that Rotary be able to use this symbol to promote the NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards.
The Cops are Tops symbol is easily recognisable and is largely used to promote the Police Awards to the public, especially through the school system.
Judging Criteria for the NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards
Judging is carried out two weeks prior to the announcement of the winners the NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards
